Yunnan, Lijiang & Shangri-la

Our Guide will meet you at hotel reception in Chengdu (or other cities) and transfer you to airport, for flight to Kunming. 

We transfer to our hotel in Kunming with our local guide and driver.

After breakfast, we drive to the Stone Forest which is about 90km southeast of Kunming. Enjoy the various shapes of limestone rocks, which were formed after millions of years. This area is also home to the minority Naxi people with their unique folk culture.

In the afternoon, transfer back to Kunming and visit the Yuantong Temple which is the largest and most ancient Buddhist temple in Kunming.

After breakfast, take a flight to Lijiang. Enjoy lunch and start our tour in Lijiang. Lijiang Ancient Town is the best-preserved minority ancient city in China. Enjoy the quaint city scenery and see plenty of handicrafts in a distinctive style only found in this area of China.

If you wish, you can climb up to Lion Hill to have a bird’s-eye view of the whole town.

Continue with a visit to the Black Dragon Pool Park, the view of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is one of the most famous postcard-perfect sceneries in southwest China.

Today, we travel to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the holy mountain of the Naxi people. Take the cable car and find yourself in a real paradise as you overlook this stunning and variant natural beauty.

On the way back to Lijiang, see the mysterious Baisha Murals at Baisha Village. The murals were painted over 1,000 years ago and display the life stories of China’s main religions, including Confucianism, Taoism, and Tibetan Buddhism.

 Our guide and driver will escort you from Lijiang to Shangri-La. Along the way, visit one of the world’s deepest and most spectacular gorges — Tiger Leaping Gorge.

After lunch, continue the 2-hour drive to Shangri-La. Visit the largest Tibetan Buddhist Lamasery in Yunnan Province — Songzanlin Lamasery. It was built in the style of Potala Palace in Lhasa and represents the Tibetan culture, housing Buddhist statues and many precious cultural treasures.

After breakfasts, visit Pudacuo National Park which retains a well-preserved ecosystem within the virgin forests. 

The must-see scenery in the park includes Lake Bita and Lake Shudu. The park has forest is home to lots of wild animals, such as squirrels, golden cats, and pheasants.

Visit a Tibetan family to enjoy an authentic local meal for lunch.

Transfer to the airport after lunch for you onward flight.
